This WordPress Collections Project was initiated as a result of trying to find a suitable plugin to manage a museum collection.
The Collections Trust in the UK has a list of system providers but for us these were too big and complex. Our museum is run by a few volunteers with limited hours to spare each week.
The aim of this project is to develop an easy to use system using WordPress, some custom code and a couple of third party plugins:
- CustomPress – to generate custom post types, taxonomies and custom fields.
- User Role Editor – to create a new curator role
